Margaret Cornelious



Margaret is currently a Conservative Councillor for Graig Ward, part of Newport City Council. Margaret was born and raised in Bristol and went to Cardiff University to study Pharmacy, following which she went to the Royal Free Hospital in London, to complete her post-graduate education and training.

Margaret came to Newport following London, and she worked in both hospital and community settings.

Margaret has served as the Mayor of Newport, during which time she was delighted to see so many community activities which take place around the city, and meet so many people who make Newport such a vibrant and successful city in which to live and work.

Margaret has been a Councillor within Newport City Council since 1990.

Margaret sought election again in May 2017 and was successful. She feels her many years of experience are of significant benefit to the residents and community she serves.
