Newport needs the M4 Relief Road NOW!
The UK Government has delivered for Wales by abolishing Severn Bridge tolls, saving motorists £15 million since December 2018. Conservative Candidate to be Newport West’s new MP Matthew Evans, will continue to stand firm on the issue and increase his calls for the relief road to go ahead.
Matthew said, “The road needs to be built. Every time there is a problem on the motorway the city is instantly gridlocked. A relief road would give the traffic somewhere else to go rather than spilling over into the streets of Newport. We have needed this road for years. The relief road is vital for residents and businesses in Newport and I want to see it go ahead."
Matthew continued to say, "Despite £44 million being spent already on the M4 Relief Road, the Welsh Labour Government are still delaying it. This will raise the cost to taxpayers by another £135 million, whilst the total cost of the project rises to a whopping £1.4 billion."
